Week Commencing 21st June 2019

Last week I enjoyed going in to various classrooms and finding out what children had learnt about ‘Animal Explorers’. The work that was being undertaken was really making the children think and talk about our world and the animals that are so precious to it.
We enjoyed a presentation by Michelle Munro from Staffordshire Wildlife who talked about the work that they do to look after wildlife in the local area. Our children had lots of ideas to contribute and were most concerned about the disappearance of the Bee. Some thought provoking and valuable work has been achieved.

This coming week sees our annual Sports Day, which is of course dependent on the weather - we will make a decision early on Monday morning as to whether the sports Day goes ahead - We will inform you as soon as the decision is made. Obviously if it is raining or the ground is wet and slippery it will be cancelled on Monday 24th June and we will try again on Tuesday 25th June.
Sports Day is 9-30 to 11-30 for the EYFS and Pre Prep and 1-15 to 2-50 for the Prep. Sports will take place at Oakhill school playing fields. Please be mindful when parking in the local area.

On Wednesday 26th June we have our Move Up Day when every child ‘moves up’ into the class they will be in in September. We will be welcoming new children to join us for this day.
Depending on which day we hold sports Day our Choir and First Holy Communion / Confirmation Party will take place in the afternoon when we are not taking part in Sports.

On Thursday 27th June we have our Nursery assembly followed by the EYFS Prize Giving at 9am Parents and Carers are most welcome to join us. In the afternoon we have the Pre Prep Prize Giving at 2pm. Both events take place in the school Hall.

The Security gates appear to be reaching their final stages, we will let you know when we are notified by St Joseph’s College that these are operational.

We continue to show visitors around the school for places in September and would remind you that; Every Day is an Open Day 01782 417533.
