Week Commencing 28th January 2019

We are looking forward to a busy week this week as we take some time to support the Edmund Rice Education Beyond Borders and ‘Look Outside Our Window’.

We are very blessed here at St Joseph’s Prep that we have children who have a social conscience and are concerned for the World outside their window.
Last week the final total of our ‘Playground of Ten Pence’s’ was £103.This will go to a destitute family currently being supported by the Edmund Rice Network.

Thank you to all who contributed to this.

This week:-
We welcome you to the Pre Prep 1 Christingle assembly at 2.45pm on Tuesday 29th January.

On Wednesday we have the EYFS Parents evening - please contact the office if you have not made an appointment and would like one.

On Thursday myself and Miss Kent fly to Dublin to take part in the EREBB European Congress - ‘Look Outside Our Window’.

On Friday whilst Miss Kent and I are at Congress the whole school will be undertaking tasks (which they will be communicating to Congress as they occur).

EYFS will be painting stones with words from the Gifts and Fruits of the Spirit on them for a ‘Stone Drop’ with words of encouragement for anyone who picks up a stone.

Pre Prep will be doing a Litter Pick in the Local area.

Prep 3/4/5 will spend the morning debating Homelessness.

Prep 6 will be taking part in a Red Cross Workshop on Refugee Awareness.

In the afternoon the whole Prep will be preparing an evening meal for the Stoke on Trent Churches Community Night Shelter stokenightshelter.wordpress.com/, which Mrs Parrish will later distribute.

The Pre Prep will be involved in preparing Language and Numeracy displays, which staff will then take to and put up at the Edmund Rice Asylum Seekers Centre in Salford.

Staff have also undertaken individual acts of charity as they personally ‘Looked Out of the Window.

We look forward to an interesting and thoughtful week.

We continue to welcome visitors to the school and would remind you that…
