Week Commencing 10 September 2018

Our first week of term completed.

It has been lovely to welcome everyone to school, to meet new friends and to hear about all the exciting things that people have done over the summer. The staff and I have heard about all kinds of adventures and experiences that have happened at home and abroad.

We have had a busy week. We have been ‘off timetable’ which has allowed children to meet their new teachers and refresh their memory about school routines.

We are back on timetable on Monday.

On Monday our school will be blessed; this is an annual time of prayer and blessing which Father Rob has led for us. It ensures that we start the year in God’s keeping and once again asking for His guidance and blessing on each and every part of our school and the family within it.

Father Rob is moving on to ‘pastures new’, the’ Mass of Thanksgiving for the Blessings of the Last Ten Years’ takes place on Monday night at St Teresa of the Child Jesus Church, I will be attending to represent the school.

The new priest will be Father Michael Glover; we look forward to meeting him and welcoming him into our school.

Swimming begins on Thursday for P6. This year we are using the facilities of Trentham Academy and we would like to thank Mr Whittingham (Head Teacher) for facilitating this for us. P6 will be swimming in two groups. Group One will swim up until half term and Group Two from half term to Christmas.

On Friday representatives from Stoke City will join us in our Success Assembly to talk about this year’s football activities running on a Wednesday evening.
I hope that you have the opportunity to look at our Prayer page as for the next eight weeks we will be sharing the prayers written and shared by each class as part of our opening Welcome worship.
