Dec 15

Week Commencing 14th November 2018

As we head towards the end of term we are celebrating the anticipation and joy of the Advent season and Christmas preparations.

The Pre Prep Concerts last week were thoroughly enjoyable and contained a variety of words, songs and acting. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped to make the concerts a reality.

We are now looking forward to the Prep Service at Holy Trinity Church, Newcastle on Tuesday 18th December at 7pm. You are most welcome to join us. This year our Service is based around the theme of ‘Awe and Wonder’. This has been our assembly theme throughout the term and has followed this idea based on ‘The Wind and the Willows’ and the chapter ‘Piper at the Gates of Dawn’. The whole school has achieved some very thought provoking and spiritual work inspired by this.

On Monday the Head Boy, Head Girl, Miss Kent and I will be delivering the produce we have collected thus far as part of our ‘Reverse Advent’ to the ‘Open Doors’ Project based in the Spode building in Stoke. Thank you to everyone for your generous donations.
Monday also sees the Nursery and Reception ‘Festive Fun’ afternoon – a relaxed afternoon retelling the Christmas story and celebrating the birth of Jesus. Nursery and Reception parents and carers are most welcome to join us in the school Hall at 1-45pm.

On Tuesday we have our Prep Service, we will be practising at Holy Trinity during the afternoon ready for the Service in the evening at 7pm. I hope you are able to join us.

Wednesday sees the end of term with our Christmas Jumper day - a non-uniform day with Christmas jumpers – please bring £1.

We also have our Christmas film, Christmas lunch and hopefully a visit from a special visitor.

School finishes at 3-25pm as usual with Joes Club until 6pm.

We look forward to this final few days of Advent in school.
