ISA Midlands Under 9‘s Tag Rugby Tournament U’11 Mini Rugby

St Joseph's U'11 Mini-Rugby team visited Princethorpe College in
Warwickshire on Friday 17th March to compete in the ISA Midlands
Mini-Rugby Tournament. They played five matches in total and Mr Ferris said they improved with every game.
Heathfield School from Worcestshire were our first
opposition and we narrowly lost six tries to four. We then played Lucton School from Herefordshire in our
second match and despite being 3-2 up at half time, we were squeezed out by five tries to four. We then drew the next match v Dixie Grammar from Leicestershire 4-4. The last group match was against local rivals Edenhurst. It was 2-2 at half time, but Edenhurst won out five tries to three in the end. Finishing fourth in our group meant we then played Tettenhall College in a 7/8th place play-off (10 schools competed in total), but fatigue finally caught up with us a little and we narrowly lost four tries to two.

All in all, Mr Ferris said that he was very pleased with the efforts of the boys: "We played with good spirit and were the best tackling

side at the tournament”.
