Week Commencing 11th June 2018

The Prep 5 children are back from their Adventures at Alton Castle where they have had a super time. Thanks go to all the staff who ensured that this visit was an enjoyable experience for everyone.

We are well underway with our 30 days of Wildlife. It is surprising how, when we are all more aware of what is going on around that we see and hear so much more. I have had reports of sightings of birds of prey, the sound as a flock of geese flew overhead, the tale of the removal of a swarm of bees and sightings of ladybird larvae and a field mouse hiding in our ‘Quiet Area’-not to mention the contributions to our Nature table.

On Monday Mr Ferris is taking the athletes for the Midlands ISA Athletics meet at Alexander Stadium.
The EYFS department is being Moderated by the Local Authority as part of their monitoring of EYFS progress throughout the City.
Staff will be receiving GDPR training and updates.

On Tuesday we have Team photographs; all members of teams/gymnastics and ballet will need to bring their clean kits. First Holy Communion and Confirmation candidates will also be having their portrait taken and will need to bring in their Communion Dresses and Sashes for the shoot.
On Tuesday we also have staff training ‘Supporting Children with Little English’

On Friday the First Holy Communion and Confirmation candidates from this year will be travelling to Alton Castle for a day retreat. We trust that they will have an enjoyable and reflective day as they celebrate receiving these Sacraments.

Once again throughout the week I am welcoming visitors to view the school.

Every Day is an Open Day – you are most welcome to view our school.
