Week Commencing 30th April 2018

The Nature Clubbers and I were quite excited when on Wednesday 25th April we spotted our first lone swallow darting around in the air-despite the cold weather. It would indicate that Spring might have sprung and summer is on its way - although as Aristotle in The Nicomachean Ethics stated….

“One swallow does not make a summer; neither does one fine day; similarly, one day or brief time of happiness does not make a person entirely happy.”

We will wait and see. We would like some sunshine on Tuesday when we have our May Day assembly. The Prep 3 children will lead the assembly with Freya being our May Queen as we honour Our Blessed Virgin Mary in her special month. The assembly begins at 9-30 am; parents and friends are most welcome to join us in our procession and celebrations. All the children are asked to bring a small bunch of flowers to lay before Our Blessed Lady. These flowers will then be taken to the Douglas Macmillan Hospice to decorate the wards and be sold to raise money for the marvellous work done at the Hospice.

After school clubs are taking place again this week.

Swimming commences on Thursday for Pre Prep 2 and Prep 5.

This week staff are continuing with their Professional Development and will be going out to view examples of best practice in Religious Education in other Catholic schools.

Places are now available in our EYFS department for September.

Every day is an ‘Open Day’, so please make an appointment with Mrs Pickford if you would like to view the school.
