Week Commencing 5th March 2018

Dear Parents,

Thank you to everyone who has braved the weather to attend school. We are pleased that we have managed to stay open over the past week and my thanks go to Mr Denstone for ensuring that the pathways have been kept clear and that the school is warm. Hopefully the worst weather has passed but we will continue to monitor the situation and do what is best for everyone’s Health and Safety.

On Friday 2nd March all the school family took part in our CAFOD Family Fast day. We took the opportunity to have a time of quiet reflection on the work of CAFOD in Zimbabwe. Thank you for supporting our CAFOD appeal ‘Give It Up’.

This week we have class photographs on Monday so children will need to come in their full uniform and looking smart.
From Monday the PTA are going to put a ‘Second Hand Clothes Drop Off Bin’ on the Prep playground for you to drop off any good clothing that has been outgrown.

On Tuesday we are pleased to welcome PC Emmett into school to talk to the EYFS children.

We have a Governors Business meeting on Tuesday.

On Wednesday Prep 6 will be running their Lenten stalls; we hope that by changing our usual pattern of selling every day to selling on one day per week that children will be well supported. Thank you in advance for the prizes that you kindly contribute and pocket money given to spend.

On Thursday I will be visiting Trentham Academy to meet the head teacher, Mr Whittingham and to view the school .We are currently planning some linked work with the Academy to share best practice.
Mrs Pickford and Mrs Edwards are out on Thursday undertaking GDPR training in readiness for the new Data Legislation which comes into force in May 2018. The office will not be manned on Thursday – if you need to contact us please leave a voice mail which we will check throughout the day and respond to as soon as we are able.

On Friday we have our Mother’s Day assembly at 2-30pm. This is for the EYFS and Pre Prep children only. Parents/carers of children in these departments are most welcome to attend.

trust that you have a warm and safe week.
