Week Commencing 25th September 2017

We enter the final week of September with the weather getting colder and the days noticeably shorter, although that has not stopped us having a very busy few weeks as we have begun term at St Joseph’s Prep.

This coming week is no exception as we have our ‘Languages Day’ on Monday 25th September.

This year the topic is Family, Pets and Home.

Children in Nursery and Reception will cover dome key vocabulary in French.

Children in PP1-P6 will have the opportunity to study both French and Italian throughout the course of the day. There will be plenty of opportunity for us to get together to share all that we have learned.

Staff have had the opportunity to practice a ‘Lock down’ procedure whilst on Training days. This was successful and gave the staff an insight into the steps to follow should we need to instigate such an emergency. We are not doing a ‘Lock down’ procedure with the children as we feel that this may be too frightening for them. However, on Friday we are going to have a competition to see which class can be the quietest when a particular sound is heard. If your child discusses this ‘game’ you will be aware what we have been up to.

I am continuing to show prospective parents around the school and would like to thank you for the many recommendations which you give to your friends and colleagues-we always find that ‘word of mouth ‘is our most powerful advertising tool for the school.
