Week Commencing 19th June 2017

The children have been enjoying being out at break time in this lovely weather. The ‘Nature Clubbers’ have been spotting all types of wild life around school and are becoming quite familiar with some of the birdlife that frequents the school grounds. We have a lot of wood pigeons and have found the white egg shells lying around the site so are looking out for the young birds.

Thank you very much to the PTA for a very successful and enjoyable Summer Fayre, once again lots of work went into the day. The school is very appreciative to the PTA for their continued support. We are raising funds towards a new school minibus.

Our Sports teams have been out and about, we have had success at the Midlands ISA Athletics with children through to the National Finals. We wish Rebecca and Charlie ‘Good Luck’ as they participate on Monday 19th June.

The cricket team returned with the ISA Kwik Cricket Trophy.

This week we have the Prep 6 end of year visit; this year Prep 6 are going to ‘Conkers’ , an outdoor education centre where they will be undertaking a number of activities including orienteering, climbing and bush craft.

This week is also Humanities week where the overall school theme is the local area, The Potteries.

On Tuesday our First Holy Communion and Confirmation candidates are out for a day Retreat of activities, prayer and reflection.

Tuesday is ‘National Refugee Day’; we will take the opportunity to pray for those who have been displaced and take the opportunity to consider this issue as part of our PSHCE issue on Human Rights.

During the week staff will be undertaking training for Early Years Speech and Language development.

I am continuing to show visitors around the school for places in September.

Visits to view the school can be arranged by calling Mrs Pickford in the school office.
