Head Teacher's Blog

May 26

Week Commencing 29th May 2017

I hope that you all have a chance to rest and relax over the Bank Holiday weekend and during half term. Let us hope that the glorious weather continues.

We have had a very busy Design Technology week with Mr Smith demonstrating some carpentry skills each morning and giving the children the opportunity to use some of those skills to make a prop for the school production of Oliver.

We had the opportunity to look at the finished pieces in each class and to evaluate them.

On Friday we had a Recorder presentation led by the local musician Hannah Bradburn; her skill on the recorder is amazing and children and staff thoroughly enjoyed her recital. We hope that this inspired our children to play the recorder.

We return to school on June 5th.

Swimming Gala 5th June at Denstone College
Please note that all children in Pre Prep 2 to Prep 6 will need their swimming kits and a bottle of water. All children to wear their PE kits / Tracksuits for the day.

We are pleased, once again, to be able to use the swimming pool at Denstone College. We have also been invited to stay for lunch at the College.
We thank Denstone College for their continued support; as ever we look forward to saying ‘Hello’ to some of our ex pupils who are continuing their secondary education at Denstone College.

Have a lovely half term break.

We look forward to welcoming you back safely on 5th June.
