Welcome back to part two of the Autumn Term

Welcome back to part two of the Autumn term and the run up to Christmas.

I hope that you have had an enjoyable break and found the time to do something different.

Now that British Summer time has ended we can expect to see the nights becoming darker; staff usually notice how the darkness has crept upon us when we dismiss children from extra-curricular clubs. The children often comment that it is ‘night time’.

So to this week;

  • School opens on Monday 30th October; we are back on timetable after Multi cultural week.
  • On Tuesday we will be celebrating our ‘Festival of Light and Hope’ as each class designs and carves a pumpkin with Christian symbols of Love and Hope to counteract the gruesome and frightening messages associated with Halloween. We will be posting our pumpkins on Facebook. Each child will also be receiving a ‘Bag of Hope’.
  • Wednesday is All Saints day when we remember all the Saints, each class will take this opportunity to find out and pray to their classroom Saint (each class room has a Saint associated with it).
  • Thursday is All Souls Day, when we remember all those who have died.
  • On Thursday the Prep department will be having a day in Liverpool to visit the Cathedral and Museums. There will be no Prep swimming.
  • On Thursday evening Mrs Moore and Mrs Dale will be taking part in a workshop on the New Vic theatre on the theme of ‘Treasure Island’.
  • On Friday everyone is back in school for a timetabled day.
